Overlooking the Blackwood
River mouth, southern coast and Flinders Bay is a new limestone,
brick and colorbond two-storey
residence.
Every room reveals a different aspect of the coast and ocean and two
balconies provide a 180-degree panorama.
Sweeping views mean that this house is the perfect vantage point from
which to watch the whales during their annual migration from May to
September. Also the beach is just 150m from the front door.
Walks along the beach, to the mouth of the river and along the river
foreshore are highlights of a holiday by the water at Augusta.
Immediately to the north is an A-Class Reserve of pristine southern
coastal vegetation, giving a sense of isolation away from the crowd,
even though the house is situated less than 1km from the Augusta town
centre.
It is an ideal spot for a relaxing break with family and friends, providing
a very comfortable summer seaside experience, or a cosy retreat around
the wood fire as the winter storms rage outside.
The house has two large living areas: upstairs for TV viewing, listening
to music, reading, socialising, or simply enjoying the view. Downstairs
includes the dining area, kitchen and wood fire.
There is a bathroom with shower and toilet on each floor. The clawfoot
bath in the upstairs bathroom has expansive views over the Southern
Ocean.
There are four bedrooms sleeping eight people. The upstairs bedrooms
have a queen size bed each. Downstairs there are two single beds in
each bedroom.
Outdoor areas are brick paved for summer entertainment and include
a protected barbecue area. A rainwater tank supplies all the fresh
water
used in the house.
The house is fully self-contained, but remember to bring your own linen,
sheets, pillowslips, towels and tea towels. Also you own music, CDs
or tapes. |
