Prickly Moses
Acacia pulchella

A plant that puts on a magnificent display, especially after a fire. THe plant's seeds are collected by ants and stored underground, which protects them from fires. They enrich the soil with nitrogen. The name comes from prickly spines that protect the plant's foliage from animals.
FLOWERS: May to October.
DISTRIBUTION: Widespread in the south-west.
