GERRY REILLY - GLASS ARTIST


1958 Born Gippsland, Victoria

1976-81 Studied glass/ceramics at Monash University School of Art, Gippsland Institute, Uni of Tasmania

1980’s Worked in small studios in Tasmania, South Australia, Jam Factory Craft Workshops in Adelaide, and in the south west of Western Australia (since 1985)

1981 & 1987 Attended AUSGLASS Conference (WA rep 1987). Workshop - Fred Daden (UK)

1988-1994 Margaret River Art Galleries- Founding shareholder with 23 other artist investors

1989 Advanced workshop in Venetian Glassblowing techniques with Lino Tagliopietra (Italy), Dante Marioni (USA), Richard Marquis (USA), in Auckland, NZ.

1990-96 Founding partner in The Melting Pot Glass Studio, Margaret River WA, creating up to 25 lines of creative art glass for wholesale and retail markets

1995 Fellow of Crafts Council of WA - “in recognition of his committment to crafts practice in the field of Glass and Education”.

1996-98 Art/Craft Expo, Fremantle, Silver Medal 96.
