Hot glass designer & artist, Gerry Reilly produces a decorative handmade
range of art glass designs from his Melting Pot Glass Studio and Gallery in Margaret
River, in the spectacular south west wine region of Western Australia.
After training in Ceramics & Glass at Monash University and University
of Tasmania between 1976 and 1981, Gerry worked in glass studios in Tasmania
and South Australia, including the Jam Factory Craft Workshop and many private
studios with glass and clay, before settling in the south west of Western Australia
in the mid 1980s.
Gerry
Reilly is currently designing radically new artworks for the Designing Futures
Project through Form WA, and he will exhibit these in “Evolve” at
Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, opening December 7, 2007. Gerry works closely
with FORM and the Fremantle Arts Centre Gallery, amongst numerous Australia-wide
galleries, to provide beautiful art glass gifts for visitors and presentation
works to a diverse range of companies and government departments.
Commissions include corporate gifts, trophies and interior designed pieces for
clients as varied as the Legends Golf Tour trophy 2007 and Handa Cup perpetual
trophy 2006,07; DEST Indigenous Higher Education Awards 2007; WA Business Arts
Partnership Awards 2006; Masters International Surf Trophies 1993-2003, 2007;

and Voyager Estate Collections.
Gerry has been a Fellow of the Crafts Council WA since 1995, is an affiliate
of Craft Australia with Craftmark accredition. Gerry Reilly exhibits nationally
and internationally and his artworks are represented in public and private collections
around Australia and overseas, including the Ebeltoft Glasmuseum Denmark. Gerry
is a participant in the Austrade Canada Art Glass Program, exhibiting in the
Australian Glass Exhibition, Sandra Ainsley Galleries, Toronto in Dec06-Jan07.
