THE UNCOMPROMISING LEADERS $265pp
(PLO only)
To receive The Road Less Travelled EWE rating, will in time, be
one of the highest accolades bestowed upon a winery in Margaret River.
To be considered for Exceptional Wine Estate inclusion a producer must undertake
all of the following:
1. Grow most or all of their own grape requirements.
2. Make at least some
commercial wine under their own auspices on a proprietary site where, at
least some of 1. or by way of 3. occurs.
3. A designated winemaker by way of proprietorship/employment/consultant
undertakes and oversees all wine production.
4. Exports the
proprietory label/brand to at least one international market.
5. Receive visitors to a proprietary licensed tasting venue, at the very
least by appointment or advertised seasonal basis.
Less than half of Margaret River’s 100+ legitimate licensed
wine producers meet this tight TRLT criteria and less than half again are
considered EWEs, the regions uncompromising leaders. There are
a few producers on the cusp, emerging stars that have really only to bide
their time, continue the pursuit of uncompromised quality, to be included
in our prestigeous EWE list.
So you want the list? Best be coming on the tour!
A great day to be had visiting 4-5 EWEs with lunch at one the regions most outstanding winery restaurants.
