Augusta Primary School offers a part-time pre-school program for four year olds and a full-time five year old program. In 2005 there are 93 primary school students enrolled in grade one to seven comprising four small classes of 22-24 students.

Established in 1904, the public school has been located at its current site since 1981 which has a large undercover area, donated library building, and a project room with workbenches and tools. The school grounds feature an expanse of native bush land, wooden playground equipment, pretty cottage style gardens and colourful wall murals.

Augusta Primary School specialises in Communications and Information Technology and has a wireless computer network, incorporating both Macintosh and Microsoft systems, with currently one computer for every four students. The school curriculum includes Japanese language studies, swimming lessons at Margaret River Recreation Centre and Aboriginal education. The school offers an extension and challenge program as well as assistance for students at educational risk.

Department of Education values are promoted at the school and include: the pursuit of knowledge and commitment to achievement of potential; self respect and acceptance; respect and concern for others and their rights; social and civic responsibility; and environmental responsibility.
