Our trails

Margaret River is blessed with a wonderful array of walk and cycle trails.

They have been developed in the past 15 years with funds from the shire council, state government and private developers.

Some of the trails have been established along the route of old railways built to service the timber industry. Others have been hewn through scenic bushland along the riverbanks.

HERITAGE TRAILS
The Shire of Augusta-Margaret River is the current custodian of the WA Heritage Council's Margaret River and Augusta-Busselton Heritage Trails.

The trails are part of a state-wide network of heritage trails that were a Bicentenial project in 1988 of the Heritage Council.
